Fred Koehler first opened Lynfred Winery in October 1979. He purchased a historic old home in the heart of downtown Roselle and used it as the tasting room for the winery. Production was done in the basement. Over the years, additional development was done on the property to include a full wine cellar, production line and storage area, a state-of-the-art tasting room, and a boutique Bed and Breakfast facility.
Fred Koehler is credited with putting Roselle “on the map” as a destination for visitors from the Chicagoland area and across the globe. Lynfred Winery attracts more than 100,000 visitors to Roselle each year by providing an exceptional customer experience.
From its world-class events to brandy-infused ports, to serving as a charming and beautiful backdrop for creating memories, Lynfred Winery continues to offer fine wines in an atmosphere of comfort, courtesy, and fun.
Fred Koehler passed in 2011, but his legacy lives on with each new visitor to a “little winery” in Roselle.
