ANDY WARHOL
Andy Warhol was an American visual artist, film director, and producer who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art.
THE FAB FOUR
The Challenge: Winter of 2022, the McAnich Arts Center (MAC) contacted the RACF to see if we were interested in their Andy Warhol celebration. The first task was to nominate 4 notable Roselle residents and once that was decided by the community, the notable 4’s pictures were going to be re-created in a “Warhol” style and displayed in a place of our choice. Sitting on the corner of one of Roselle’s busiest crossroads (Roselle Road and Irving Park) is the Itasca Bank with big, beautiful windows that create a perfect frame for our “Warhol” notable 4’s to be displayed. But there is more to this task!
FIND WARHOL
Together with the Village of Roselle and the Roselle Merchants Organization, the RACF is honoring the MAC’s wishes to spread the spirit of Warhol. You will see the planters along the main street in a “pop art” style. You may visit a store and find Andy Warhol pillows, coasters, cards, etc. You may also have dinner or breakfast in town and find that your kids want to try the Warhol pancakes. Visit our local brewery or winery to try new Warhol-inspired drinks!
Make it a point to visit Roselle and find “Warhol” throughout our beautiful community.
FOR KIDS
We have created a color-by-number Warhol piece for kids to enjoy. It’s easy and provides them the opportunity to learn how colors interact with each other. Once you have downloaded the PDF, print it out and start to color. When the coloring is complete, we would love for you to take a photo and email them to us so that we can post them on our social media.
